According to the Federal Center for Agricultural Export Development of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture (Agroexport), in 2023 the total volume of tea imports to the United Arab Emirates amounted to 90 thousand tons. Given the zero customs tariff on tea products in this country, experts predict an increase in demand for black and green tea produced in Russia.
At Gulfood 2025, MAI presented its tea and coffee brands, which have already proven themselves well in the domestic market.
"We supply our products to many countries, including Saudi Arabia and the Emirates. During the exhibition, we held a number of productive meetings with partners from the Persian Gulf region. Events like the Gulfood exhibition are a great opportunity to find new business partners and meet with existing ones, hold a large number of negotiations in one place, saving time on business trips. We are confident that Russian tea will become one of the most attractive offers for the UAE market, given that interest in this product continues to grow here," Ivan Fedorov, Director of Export at MAI, commented on the results of the Gulfood exhibition.
Gulfood, an exhibition of food, beverages, equipment for the hotel and restaurant business and cooking, is the largest and most influential agri-food exhibition in the Middle East. Among its key objectives is to assist exporters in establishing business contacts with potential trading partners in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
